About Breast Cancer Foundation NZ

Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand (BCFNZ) is a non-profit charitable trust. The organisation’s vision is to achieve zero deaths from breast cancer, and its mission involves pushing for advancements in early detection, treatment, and support to realise this vision.

BCFNZ envisions a future where breast cancer is caught early and treated effectively, preventing it from spreading beyond the breast. The organisation actively works towards this goal by promoting breast awareness and early detection, breaking down barriers to mammogram access, encouraging the development of new technologies, and funding the latest equipment and technologies for hospitals.

The foundation reaches out to all New Zealanders, providing education about breast awareness, screening mammograms, breast cancer risk, and overall breast health. They offer support services and information for people with breast cancer, their families, and friends. BCFNZ also engages with health professionals, researchers, and scientists, sharing priorities and supporting research and clinical trials. Additionally, the organisation advocates to the government on issues related to breast cancer treatment.

BCFNZ supports breast cancer interest groups and operates with the iconic ‘pink ribbon,’ an international symbol of breast cancer, trademarked to BCFNZ in New Zealand.
