Oncology Aesthetics

Restoring your body image and self-confidence can be addressed too. As many of our coaches are former cancer patients themselves, they remember the first time they went to work with no hair, having to take a deep breath before stepping out of their car. For many, learning how to wear a wig in the right way, use hair accessories, some make up, dress in a way that gave them more confidence was a real game changer.

Too many cancer patients retreat from their daily activities because they feel uncomfortable or even ashamed of the physical changes they are experiencing during treatment including hair loss, eyebrows loss, weight loss and grey complexion. It can impact your confidence and ultimately your quality of life.

You become less active, have less social interactions, feel more isolated and a vicious circle begins, the less active you become, the less energy you have, the less motivation you have and all this can affect your state of mind and sometimes even your willingness to fight.

Our professional oncology aestheticians and make-up artists will guide you through easy tips to help you look and feel better.

A positive and constructive mindset is crucial, but sometimes easier said than done. There will always be ups and downs. We will support you in difficult moments while teaching you techniques to cope with stress, fear and anxiety.

Many studies have demonstrated that cancer patients who feel supported have faster recovery, less side effects, better chances of avoiding recurrence and increased survival rates. Our first priority is to make you feel supported, heard and understood. Many of our coaches have been cancer patients themselves and we know exactly how it feels.

We firmly believe, and our experience coaching cancer patients confirms, that true healing can’t be attained without addressing emotional health. Our minds need to heal, too.

Negative emotions – like anger, resentment, unforgiveness and sadness – are toxic, not only for our spirit but also for our physical health. We will guide you on how to foster positive and constructive thoughts. As pragmatic and science-based thinkers, we realize the importance of this. Addressing emotional wellbeing is a fundamental part of our coaching.

Cancer not only affects cancer patients, but also the people surrounding them. Your family and friends also feel disorientated, scared and unsure about the best way to help you.

Family members often need a secure space to talk about their feelings and how it affects them. We have seen far too often family members or caregivers being truly affected by the experience but not daring to talk about it as they feel that it is not a priority. We believe that everybody affected by the situation would do better with adequate emotional and practical support.

Guidance and practical tips will also make your loved ones feel more confident and better equipped to support you.
